UAMSA Hosts Pioneer Doctors To Grand Dinner



The evening of Friday, 1st of December 2017 was one whose memory will linger for a  long time.

The dinner organised by the University of Abuja Medical Students Association (UAMSA) for her pioneer class of medical students and the first ever graduating medical doctors was one packed with so much fun to remember.
The event which started at about 6pm and lasted for about 4 hours had in attendance dignitaries, consultants, resident doctors,  medical and nursing students, graduands' family members, friends and well wishers from all walks of life.
There were lots of jokes by the MCs and the husband of one of the graduands, musical performance, presentation of  awards and medals of honour, words of advice to the graduands by the Chief Medical Director of University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Prof. Bisallah Ekele, who was represented by the CMAC, deans of faculties, and other doctors present, toast, cutting of cake, LOTS OF DELICIOUS DELICACIES AND DRINKS, taking of pictures, speech by the incumbent and pioneer presidents of UAMSA, music, dance and lots more.
In his speech, the President of UAMSA, Comrade Olawale Bankole expressed joy that the steadfastness of 12 years have finally yielded the victory of graduation while thanking the University Vice Chancellor and everyone who played notable roles in making it a reality. Comrade Uchenna Chukwurah, the pioneer President of UAMSA thanked the incumbent Excos for the honour.  He went down  memory lane to recount the struggles of 12 years, shared some stories of past struggles with new students who may not have heard of them, calling on stage his successor Comrade Uchenna Anyawu for recognition.
People present expressed how impressed they were with the event saying it surpassed their expectations. "I have been attending students events for decades but i've not seen one as organised and fun-filled as this one" a professor present told our reporter.
